The Beechcraft Premier light jet began its development program in 1994 before gaining FAA Type certification in March 2001. This lengthy development programme was as a result of its pioneering composite carbon fibre fuselage. Seating up to 6 passengers only two variants of the Beechcraft Premier were developed. The first being the Beechcraft Premier 1 (2001-2005) and later the improved Premier 1A (with upgraded interior and systems) from 2005.
